Pretty skies, sweet signs

Mother’s Day evening, May 11th, 2025.

After our photo together, we stayed outside admiring the pretty sky — the kind of light that makes you stop and breathe it in. The sky ahead of us looked like stretched-out cotton candy: soft pinks, warm lavender, and a lingering golden glow from the sun slipping behind us.

Jemma stood still for a moment, quietly looking up. And that’s when I saw it — the full moon, peaking out from the clouds, glowing quietly right in front of her.

I picked my camera back up — and captured the magic in front of me. A moment of beauty and stillness, on a normally busy street.

Later that night, I Googled to see if it was a full moon, and it was. This full moon was the Flower Moon. Naturally, I kept reading to learn the meaning behind it, and it truly resonated with me.

This moon is a spiritual nudge to slow down and acknowledge how far you’ve come. It’s about clarity, practical steps forward, and releasing what’s no longer needed. Like flowers letting go of old growth so they can bloom again — this moon encourages the same.

Lately, I’ve been holding a lot: emotions, decisions, uncertainty. Searching for direction. And somehow, this one quiet moment — moonlight, soft skies, my daughter standing still — felt like the kindest kind of reminder.

Not everything needs an answer right away. Some signs just show up to say, you’re still blooming, even now.

Not every sign comes loud and clear. Some show up quietly, wrapped in light.
